NDIS Occupational Therapy and Behaviour Support in Logan

Community-based occupational therapy and specialist behaviour support across all Logan suburbs.

People Centred Therapies provides individualised NDIS services across Logan, with support shaped around each participant’s goals, everyday activities, environment, and support needs.

Our occupational therapists and behaviour support practitioners provide assessment, intervention, capacity building, behaviour support, training, and ongoing clinical support with a focus on practical outcomes that can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

NDIS Services Across Logan

PCT provides occupational therapy and specialist behaviour support throughout the Logan region. Support may involve assessment, intervention, consultation, training, reporting, or ongoing clinical input depending on the participant’s needs and the purpose of the referral.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists work with participants to understand barriers affecting daily activities and develop strategies, skills, routines, equipment, and environmental supports that improve participation and independence.

Services include capacity-building occupational therapy, Functional Capacity Assessments, Home and Living Assessments, assistive technology, sensory assessments, occupational therapy driving assessments, and outcomes reporting.

Specialist Behaviour Support

Our behaviour support practitioners assess the factors contributing to behaviours of concern and use this information to develop positive, individualised supports that build skills, reduce risk, and improve quality of life.

Support may include Functional Behaviour Assessments, interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans, implementation support, training, restrictive practice review, and ongoing behaviour support intervention.

Using Assessment to Guide Meaningful Change

Assessment provides important information about a participant’s strengths, needs, barriers, and support requirements. PCT uses this information to guide practical intervention rather than treating assessment and reporting as the end point.

Occupational therapy may involve developing skills across personal care, home activities, community participation, independent living, education, employment, routines, and self-management. Where further assessment is required, our occupational therapists can also investigate functional capacity, home and living needs, sensory processing, assistive technology requirements, and driving capacity.

Specialist behaviour support uses assessment to understand the purpose and context of behaviour, identify contributing factors, develop proactive and responsive strategies, teach alternative skills, and support consistent implementation in everyday environments.

Good assessment identifies the barriers. Effective intervention works towards changing what happens next.

Support Across Everyday Settings

PCT provides community-based services where assessment or intervention within the participant’s usual environment is clinically relevant.

Appointments throughout Logan may occur in:

  • The participant’s home

  • Community environments

  • Supported living environments

  • Education settings

  • Employment or vocational settings

  • Other relevant everyday environments

  • Telehealth, where appropriate

The most appropriate setting depends on the participant’s goals, the service being provided, the information required, and any relevant safety or accessibility considerations.

Building Support Around the Person and Their Environment

Everyday participation is influenced by more than a person’s individual abilities. The environment, routines, task demands, communication, sensory experiences, available support, and people involved can all affect how successfully an activity is completed.

Providing services within relevant everyday settings can help PCT identify these factors and develop strategies that fit more naturally into the participant’s life.

This may involve teaching a skill differently, adjusting the environment, changing how an activity is structured, introducing equipment or visual supports, supporting consistent implementation, or reviewing strategies when they are not achieving the intended outcome.

Our aim is to develop supports that remain useful outside the therapy appointment.
